Whether you’re planning a weekend road trip east towards Prince Edward County or just one of our many customers that come from as far as the GTA, we thought we’d provide a list of some of our favourite local spots to discover while you’re here! From shops to wineries to farmer’s markets, get into these things to do near Trenton, ON, the next time you visit Lange & Fetter!

Enjoy a Local Flower Farm

Located just seven minutes away from our dealership at 1226 Stockdale Rd, Trenton, Ontario, the Dahlia May Flower Market supplies fresh seasonal cut flowers and distinctive bouquets to farmers' markets and specialty shops all over the greater Quinte area. Every weekend from March to December, the farm hosts a flower market at their popular on-farm Farmstand, where customers can purchase the most beautiful Ontario-grown blooms. Owned and operated by life-long Quinte area resident Melanie Harrington, we highly suggest checking out her beautiful three acres of chemical-free, specialty flowers while you’re in town!

Visit a PEC Winery

Prince Edward County is known all over the world for its renowned wineries, and lucky for our customers, this quaint island is just a stone’s throw away from Trenton. Sugarbush Vineyards is a small family-owned and operated vineyard and winery that specializes in small lot, artisanal wines made from their estate-grown grapes. Explore vineyards and cideries with one of Lilac & Vine’s world-class curated tours as you travel around in a luxury Jeep Sahara Wrangler or a vintage cruiser bike. Is craft beer more your thing? The county also has plenty of breweries worth checking out as well!

Take a Hike

If you enjoy the great outdoors, Quinte West has an array of hiking trails that truly demonstrate the beauty of our great Nation. The Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail is Quinte West's part of the 1,400 km Great Lakes trail and offers everything from walking and jogging to cross-country skiing and horseback riding. The Frankford Tourist Park contains one of the largest glacial erratics in North America and a 2-million-pound boulder that’s 2.3 billion years old. The area is also home to a wide variety of trees, flowers, ferns, birds and wildlife.

Go Antiquing

For lovers of antiquing and obscure thrift shops, Trenton and nearby areas like Port Hope have all sorts of shops and markets to find one-of-a-kind additions to your home. Mary’s Place Treasures is a community favourite and a fantastic place to procure little nostalgic treasures. Antiques on Queen is a three-storey antique shop located in Port Hope that specializes in estate jewellery.

Visit the Trenton Farmer’s Market

Open from May to November every Wednesday and Saturday, from 7 am to 2 pm, the Trenton Farmer's Market is a beloved market that folks from all over the area flock to for fresh produce, baked goods, maple syrup, honey, preserves and more. Located on Front Street, along the Trent-Severn Canal, this market is confined to people and businesses that "Make It, Bake It, or Grow It," meaning all the products you’ll find have been produced or grown on the seller's land. Get there early since items tend to sell out fast!
